First Christmas stockings have some interesting requirements:
Bright Christmas Colors – stitched with love, even a simple stocking can declare deep and powerful love for a lovely grandbaby. Be sure to add in the name and birth year, it personalizes the stocking and results in a keepsake they’ll never want to part with.
Adornments of Sound and Texture – Add in some felt, perhaps some cashmere or rabbit fur, and silky smooth satin. Bells that jingle are always a nice touch. Add some pom-poms and tassels or a bow tie in the front, and stitch on a pocket to hold a favorite teddy bear.
Softness – depending on the size of your stocking, you may want to pad it and add a warm flannel lining for a sleeper sock. One giant sleeper sock will keep baby toasty and warm on those winter outings and everyone recognizes the treasure inside is a wiggling bundle of love.
