Thousands of Christmas trees on the market make it difficult for us to decide on this one and only Christmas tree. To make your choice easier, here are a few tips that should be borne in mind when choosing this most important Christmas item.
Christmas trees are in Christmas tradition for ages. They came to us from Germany and early became one of the most important element of Christmas and symbol of this holiday. Now we can’t imagine how our Christmas would look like without it. So we are not wondering anymore ‘have or not to have Christmas tree’ but we rather think ‘which one to choose’.
1. Before leaving home to search a Christmas tree of our dream we should first plan our budget, the maximum amount of money which we are able to spend on this purpose. We should also think about places that we are willing to visit. We could spend whole day and don’t find anything. That’s why it is sometimes better to spend one day on researching for the right shop and another day for searching the right tree.
2. This next point refers only to situations when someone is looking for a live cut Christmas tree. Before purchasing we should decide what is the best place in our home to put it. If for example we decide that the Christmas tree will stand in the way that it is accessible from each side (for example standing in the middle of the room) we have to make sure to select a Christmas tree as much symmetrical as it can be.
3. Let’s not be afraid to take a measure with us and measure trees. The most important is not allowing the situation that after the purchase the Christmas tree, which seemed to be average size in the shop does not fit into our room and it is too big. Many people buy Christmas trees without the knowledge of their dimensions. After returning home and distributing the tree it appears that there is a lack of space to open the wardrobe, or go door to the balcony.
4. If we are buying artificial Christmas tree let’s think twice before we decide on a colourful one. Very often we can meet such Christmas trees for sale (red, white, etc.) which might look nice but only for five minutes. And buying and artificial Christmas tree is a quite big expense so the Christmas tree that is chosen should serve us for a couple years. Colourful, unusual Christmas trees, although very nice and original, can get easily bored and go out of fashion.
A general suggestion when choosing and decorating Christmas tree is to match it with our home decor and Christmas decorations that we have. For example our original, wooden handmade furniture won’t make a great match with pink Christmas tree. So, let’s choose a tree that would be a great symbol of Christmas and bring good mood into our house.
Merry Christmas!
